In 1977 Mary Cooke graduated from Sligo Regional Technical College, Ireland, obtaining a National Certificate in Construction Studies. During 1989 she continued
her studies by completing an AutoCAD course at Humber College, Etobicoke, Ontario.
Upon graduation from Sligo R.T.C., Mary joined Jennings & O'Donovan Consulting Engineers in Ireland as a Junior Civil/Structural Technician. Over a period of
three and one half years her responsibilities included preparation of civil and structural drawings and surveying for several civil projects.
In 1981 she emigrated to Canada and joined Williams Brothers Canada Ltd. in Calgary, Alberta, advancing to Intermediate Draftsperson and became proficient in
Electrical, Mechanical and Process Piping drafting.
From 1983 to 1986 she worked on a Contract Basis, with Canterra Energy Ltd. assuming the total responsibility for the assembly and production of as-built
documents for a number of gas gathering systems.
In 1984 she joined Anrep Associates Ltd., first in Toronto and later in Ottawa on a part-time basis. Her responsibilities included preparation of mechanical
and electrical drawings using AutoCAD, including co-ordination of same.
From 1991 to 1996 she worked with Goodkey Weedmark Associates Ltd., employed as a Senior Technician, responsible for the production of mechanical/electrical
drawings using AutoCAD, including co-ordination and some design.
In September 1992 she became a Partner of the newly incorporated John G. Cooke & Associates Ltd. In 1996 she joined the firm as a Senior Technician. Her
technical knowledge and experience are demonstrated in her ability to produce quality documents conforming to the latest FHBRO and NRC research. She is familiar
with all repair information and on-site conditions. She is responsible for coordination and organization of condition reports produced by the office. She also
assists with preparation of specifications, including the front end documents. She prepares assists in the preparation of drawings and specifications for major
restoration projects carried out by John G. Cooke & Associates Ltd.
Mary is also responsible for the production of all promotional material associated with responses to RFP's for Public Works, NCC, The Bank of Canada and various
educational institutions. The responses are organized as outlined in the RFP's to meet their strict formats and requirements.
