Our firm’s aim as the prime consultant was the conservation of heritage fabric while improving thermal envelope performance and addressing basic structural deficiencies of roofing and masonry following the “Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada”. We provided details for structural repairs to stone anchorage system, repairs and replacement of stones; replacements of metal roofs with new copper roof including repairs to roof sub-structure, installation of new copper spire as well as slate cladding. Additionally, we prepared contract documents for several phases of the project, balancing the conservation objectives with budget constraints and project objectives, cost estimates, separate bid process, project administration and commissioning for each phase of the project.
