Revitalization of the NCC River House

Built between 1914-1925, the National Capital Commission (NCC) River House is the home to Ottawa’s New Edinburgh Club. Located in the Ottawa River, it had deteriorated over the decades, resulting in a full rehabilitation project from 2019-2022. John G. Cooke & Associates Ltd’s structural mandate included a complete structural/seismic upgrade to current Building Code. Given renewed life, this iconic Boathouse continues to serve as a multipurpose pavilion to its community and remains an important hub for watersports.
